Finding reputable and ethical Shiba Inu breeders in the United States is not an easy task for two main reasons. One, Shiba Inu are a relatively new breed the U.S., so there's simply not as much Shiba breeders compared to more common dog breeds like Labs.
And two, breeding quality purebred dogs is not easy and most reputable breeders breed because of their pure commitment and passion for the breed.
This means that most other breeder unfortunately fall into the category of either inexperienced, or worse - puppy mills.
